I am really impressed by this organization. We recently adopted a puppy from them and they were awesome. Whenever we had questions or concerns, they quickly answered us and would see us. Our puppy is amazing and we have them to thank for that. Here are some pictures of our little girl.

Went to a special event for rabies shots for animals at a discounted price on Saturday and the staff was very polite, professional, and patient. I got there an hour early by mistake and , I was extremely glad that I did because there was already 5 people in line in front of me by then. So I recommend going early for any similar events held there in the future.

I adopted an amazing dog here about a month ago. She is very sweet and loving. They could improve explaining medical info during adoption. ONE YEAR UPDATE: Sophie is a sweet girl. She loves taking walks in the woods and naps on the bed. She had Mass Cell on her leg and the shelter was amazing. Helping me treat it, now she is all clear.

This was my 2nd time coming here. First was for my cat which they did vaccine and neutered which was great. He heeled great and no issue. The 2nd time I brought my dog to their vaccine clinic thing recently and the wait was long but it was understandable because it was discounted and no appointment needed. The problem was once we got home I noticed she had something on her side. Which was the tip on the needle was not happy about that at all. They should check and make sure everything is good.

I'm not going to say to not adopt from this place bc it's not the animals' fault. But if you do decide to adopt from here, do so with caution. My partner and I came in a month ago to adopt a new kitten. I had to take the day off from work to go to the shelter bc they so happen to be closed on my only day off work. And their hours are only 12-5; right in the middle of a work day. We had been wanting to adopt a kitten for a long time, and we were very eager to meet all the cats. I'd been keeping up with the cats on their website. We already have 1 indoor only cat who never comes into contact with other animals. She was our only animal. So we meet with the employee taking care of the cats. I can't remember their name. They immediately began asking me a lot of questions about our resident cat. I told them that we had not updated our cat's vaccinations yet bc she is an indoor only cat who never comes into contact with other animals. And that she had not gotten sick during the whole year and half we've had her. The employee began acting suspicious of us and ultimately rejected us from adopting that day. Which was totally heartbreaking. We even had a specific kitten in mind. I explained to the employee how heartbreaking it was to be turned down from adoption, and how I had to take the day off work to come down there. And the employee copped an attitude and said, "well do you work the weekends?" And I said, "yes I do. I'm only off on Mondays." And they responded with, "well I work the weekends too, ya know. You can just take another day off work." And that's when I just had to walk out before I gave them the same attitude they were giving me. So within 3 weeks, we were able to get our resident cat a vet appointment to get her vaccinations updated. We got her updated, waited another week, and then went back to the shelter a month later to try and adopt again. This time, the previous employee we dealt with was not there, and an employee named Allie helped us. Allie was extremely nice and helpful. You could tell that she really cares about the cats. She didn't start off interrogating us and automatically being suspicious of us like the previous employee. And she helped us find the perfect kitty for us. If you're looking to adopt a cat from this shelter, ask for Allie. She's awesome! So we adopted our kitty, brought her home, and she just would not eat. She wouldn't eat or drink anything, and she wasn't using the litterbox. We separated her from our resident cat, and she just refused to eat or drink anything. She was also very underweight. I started looking through her medical history that the shelter gave us, and I saw where she was seen by a vet multiple times for refusing to eat and being underweight. Which was something that the shelter neglected to tell us. I saw where our kitty was put on an appetite stimulant for 5 days, and then taken off it after gaining 1 lb. I suspect they put her on the stimulant just to get her cleared for adoption, and then took her off it. But that's just my speculation. I was starting to get worried. I've had many cats growing up, and cats only refuse to eat if there's something wrong. But her medical records showed no other indications that something was wrong with our kitty. It claimed that everything else was normal, and there was no reason specified as to why she was refusing to eat. But I just felt that something wasn't right. She still had not eaten nor drank anything by the next morning. I was becoming very concerned bc she was already so underweight. I sat with her for a while in her room, and she finally used the litterbox for the first time. I noticed that there were worms in her feces. I took her to our vet immediately, and sure enough, our new kitty had tapeworms. I had her dewormed and had her prescribed another appetite stimulant. I took her home and sure enough, she began eating within the next few hours. She perked up instantly, and she quickly became very curious and playful! I'm very disappointed that the shelter failed to disclose the fact that she had worms with us.

Amazing place! My boyfriend and I adopted our goofball Leon (formerly named Charlie) from here. He’s been such a playful, silly guy! He’s well socialized with people and animals and has a blast everywhere he goes! So many people fall in love with him quickly! We are so grateful for the people that helped us find our fur baby. We met with two other dogs (both were very sweet as well) but Leon won us over. Adoption process was easy and quick. Whenever people ask where we found him, people always say wonderful thing about DHA!

Absolutely AWESOME. We have brought four kittens here to be neutered/spayed and they are friendly, informative and cost efficient. We had one of our kittens in today and unfortunately we got caught up with some stuff at home so missed the normal pick up time by well over an hour and a half and when the woman called she was very friendly. I know if it were me I probably wouldn’t have been. Very professional. I apologize sincerely for our lateness today but thank you for being so professional and understanding.

Don't take your animal here for vaccines...if you want them documented that is. My dog had vaccines back in November, and I went to enroll him in another daycare and they noticed that there were no expiration dates on the paperwork. I …
